Three players from the HBR Chess Team competed in the Grove Avenue School tournament on April 6th in Barrington, IL. The HBR Team comprised of Austin McMurtrie (Sr), Nathan Schlachter (Jr), and Savannah McMurtrie (So) earned 1st place team honors. Austin McMurtrie earned individual 1st place honors with a 5/5 finish. The players received their trophy from 2008 US Chess Champion Yury Schulman who organized the tournament. Congratulations Royals!

Last night's Board of Education Royal Shout Out was awarded to Mrs. Sartori and the HBRHS Band. The "bucket brigade" demonstrated newly acquired percussion skills using 5 gallon buckets and drumsticks. These students used their FLEX period to learn and practice this skill. #RoyalPride #BucketDrums
