Greetings from the Principal! Today, i had the chance to see Mr. Magis' World History class analyze several primary and secondary sources as a way to understand the origin and spread of world religions. Developing the skill of working with original documents is so important

As a Principal, one of my great joys has been celebrating Homecoming Week. It is truly a time when we celebrate as a community. This year we have had to adjust. Thank you to Mrs. Halverson and Ms. Kacer for all that they have done to keep the spirit of Homecoming alive!

The HBRHS Student Council is now accepting entry forms for the very first Homecoming Parade of Homes, which is this year's take on the annual parade. HBRHS community members from near and far are invited to decorate the outside of their home or business to show their Royal spirit. Entries will be showcased in a virtual parade presentation and judged on creativity, spirit, theme, and identification of business/organization. The winners of each entry class will be awarded a prize; there will also be an overall People's Choice Award. Please submit this entry form (https://tinyurl.com/HOCO2020Parade) by Friday, Oct. 9.

Stop by for a delicious meal or an ice cream treat today and support Dairy Joy as we kick off our Homecoming festivities with our first Take-Out spot!!

This afternoon the AP Gov't class participated in a virtual live town hall meeting with students across the 14th Congressional District. Students had a chance to pose questions live. Our own Tyler Savitski posed a great question that the representative answered. #WeAreHBR

Notice to Lower Flags:

Today my travels as Principal brought me to Mr. Snedeker's room where his US History class was discussing issues faced by Native Americans and brainstorming 21st century solutions to these challenges.

HBRHS families - we have changed our Parent-Teacher Conference dates. Please check your emails for information regarding the new dates and how to schedule conferences for your student(s).

More golf photos. Good luck gentlemen!

Ahh...the perks of being the Principal! I was chauffeured around Indian Oaks while our Boys golf team competed in the Little 10 Conference tournament. So much fun to watch Ryan, Ben, Richard, Tennyson, Elliot, and Riley compete. Thanks for the ride Coach Olsen!

We've published the first HBRHS Newsletter! Check it out here to learn about what's happening in the building! https://5il.co/l6pu

Students: Do you have questions about PE? Mr. Olsen is holding two Google Meets this Friday (9/18) to answer your questions. These Meets are scheduled for 10:30 am and 2:30 pm. An invitation was sent to you via Google Classroom. Take advantage of this opportunity!

What a great day! Our students were treated to a "face to face" meeting, virtually, with Deborah Wiles, author of the book Kent State. Our students asked great questions of the author! Huge thank you to Ms. Kacer, Mrs. McCauley, and Mrs. Donlan for putting this together.

Check out our most recent District blog post to see what learning through COVID-19 has been like for one of our students, Lexi Zabel. #WeareHBR #TogetherWeGotThis

In honor of Patriot Day, our students are hearing the voices of those who were drafted and those who volunteered for the Vietnam War as a culminating community experience after reading Kent State. Thanks to Hinckley Historical Society for making this possible!

My travels as Principal continue on this rainy Friday. The weekend is almost here...but the learning continues. Today, Senorita Chapman was working with our Spanish I students and discussing things they like to do... in Spanish of course!

Our Agriculture Dept. has been busy! Our FFA members helped out at the Hinckley Area Food Pantry. Mrs. Sanderson and Mr. Brewington helped students pick apples from our Royal Orchard and our Horticulture classes are diving into floral design!
