Student council this year has been a tremendous asset to our school’s overall climate. They have worked to put together numerous fun dress up days, partnered with the high school Renaissance club to bring back our annual Halloween dance.

Below is a short description by a couple of members to describe their past and current accomplishments. Thanks go out to Mr. Jourdan and Mr. Novotny and all the student council members. We look forward to continuing to work with this group throughout the remainder of the school year.  Mr. Strouss

Being on student council has been a great way to jump into middle school. Working with the 7th graders and the 8th graders has been exciting, for they have taught us the ins and outs of being a good citizen. We are learning a lot on how to work together and put all our efforts into raising school spirit.

Student council works hard and puts the time in to make sure our ideas are realistic, and everyone will love them. We are glad that we were able to have the opportunity to join such an amazing group of people. We were really busy in December.  We decorated the halls, and we planned and hosted the all-school bingo event.  It was awesome! We are looking forward to next year’s event and playing a bigger part in the production.

Another huge success has been our theme days.  From Lumberjack Day to Dress to Impress Day to Top of the Hat Days, these days add positive energy to the school day.  It is always fun when our teachers and staff join the fun! Frequently, the staff outfits are the most creative. (Thanks Mrs. Rooney, Miss Brown, Miss Lewis, and Mr. Strouss!)

There is plenty of hard work put into spirit days to make sure everyone will have a time to remember.  The Student Council at HBR Middle School is a great way to get involved.  From brainstorming sessions to delivery updates to our homerooms, we are loving the experiences and friendships in our first year of student council.
