Students, Are you interested in a career in the trades? Check your Google Classroom for a post from Mr. Abbs about the Apprenticeship Expo taking place on November 14th. This is a great opportunity to talk to professionals in a variety of trades, to see live demonstrations, and to learn more about apprenticeships as a postsecondary path. Fill out the Google Form on Classroom to indicate your interest.


Tonight's Soccer Regionals have been postponed until Monday at 5pm and 7pm due to field conditions. We hope you all stay dry and we'll see you as we pack the stands next week to cheer on our Royals!

Seniors? Are you working on your college applications yet? Do you need support or just need time to sit down and work on them? Come to College Application Completion Night next Tuesday, October 17th from 6-7 PM in the High School computer lab! Mr. Abbs and our ISAC rep will be there to support and to answer questions as you do your applications. Your parents can come with you if you would like as well. Contact Mr. Abbs with any questions.

The HBR HS National Honor Society will be hosting a Halloween Night in the High School Library on Friday, October 20th from 6:00-7:00 PM. Children who are 11 and under can come read Halloween books with the school counselor, Mr. Abbs, and they will be able to trick or treat to the different classrooms as well. College Night at Waubonsee is TONIGHT from 6-8 PM at the Sugar Grove Campus at the Academic and Professional Center. There is still time to register before the event, or you can walk-in and register on the spot. Reps from more than 100 colleges and universities will be in attendance. Learn more at:

Is your Senior even CONSIDERING applying to Waubonsee Community College for next year? They should be attending Waubonsee Day tomorrow, October 3rd from 11 AM-12 PM in the HS computer lab. A Waubonsee rep will give a presentation on anything they need to know about WCC, and they will have time to complete the free online application. Students should Mr. Abbs to sign their permission slip ASAP.
