HBR is in need of substitute teachers and teaching assistants (paraprofessionals) to help in our schools. If you have 60 college hours or more, you may be eligible for a paraprofessional and/or short term sub teaching license. Big Rock Plowing Match- September 16, 17, 18 at Plowman's Park in Big Rock. Discounted wristbands for unlimited amusement rides on Friday and Saturday AND weekend wristbands are all available online at bigrockplowingmatch.com. This week, our kindergarten team had the opportunity to meet with Eagle Scout, William Engel, who built the new kindergarten garden. He came to show some of our youngest learners how he planned for and built the garden. Students had fun exploring- smelling basil & mint- and seeing the butterflies who enjoy the flowers. They even tasted cucumbers & peppers grown right here. We want to thank William for his incredible work at HBRES, and we wish him the very best as he begins his journey at Aurora University!

We are ending our 2nd week of school with sun and fun! Happy Royal Friday! Join us TOMORROW (Saturday) from 9am- 2pm at the Hinckley Coffee House for STEAM DEMONSTRATION DAY! Come on over to learn about our new STEAM program and explore the materials we use in class. You can also donate supplies to make STEAM class even more interactive. See you there!

Join the Big Rock Library tomorrow! They are hosting a Take and Make at the Big Rock Library for people who like to do arts and crafts. They will bring supplies and hope the kids might decide to make a project that can be entered in the Jr. Fair during Plowing Match. You do not need to have a library card and the session runs from 10:30 am to noon. Come and be crafty!

It's our first Royal Friday of the year! Be sure to have your student wear his/her best "Royal Wear" each Friday to join us and possibly featured in our Royal Friday sightings!

Good Morning! We are working to get Pick Up Patrol up & running for HBRES. Please go to Pick Up Patrol's website and check that your default pick up plan is accurate. Once that is set- you only need to enter something (BEFORE 2:00) if there is a change to how you are transporting your student home. We do ask the students to stick to their usual transportation plans and changes are made only in unique situations. Thank you for your patience with us as we get this running.

We are so excited to welcome our students back tomorrow! We will all be outside on the blacktop to greet our students in the morning. If parents/ families would like to join us on the blacktop until the bell for music, photos and a welcome back message, they are welcome to come! (Please park at Pioneer Park next door; no parking in the circle drive.) As a reminder, our school day is 8:25-3:00. We are #backtobetter this year!

Today was an exciting day as our HBR staff kicked off the year. We enjoyed breakfast, did lots of learning and lots of preparedness training. We can’t wait to see our students! #BackToBetter
