Hinckley-Big Rock School District’s online registration for the 2023-2024 school year is now open! Thanks in advance for your efforts as you utilize our online registration. Registration links and additional information can be found on our website at hbr429.org.

Hinckley 5 and 6 bus routes will be running about 15 minutes behind this morning due to the National Weather Service warnings. School will have our regular start time with students on this route admitted to class upon arrival.

All three of our buildings are back to our normal operations as the severe thunderstorm warnings have been lifted. We will continue to monitor the weather, take any needed actions, and keep the lines of communication open if anything changes. #WeAreHBR #ReadyToGo

The Hinckley-Big Rock CUSD #429 Board of Education will hold a special meeting on Wednesday, 4.5.23, in the HBRHS Library at 6:30 pm to finalize plans for our upcoming Community Forums on April 17th, May 15th, and June 6th. The Board will also further discuss filling the upcoming vacant school board seat during executive session. This week we honored HBR mom of 3, Marci Viland, as we wore orange & Marci’s Stampede gear, to join her in the fight to stomp out multiple sclerosis. Everyone is invited to join her team at the MS Walk on May 8 in St. Charles!

March is Multiple Sclerosis Awareness Month- and to bring awareness we are wearing ORANGE on Wednesday, 3/22! MS is a condition that affects your brain and spinal cord. In MS, the coating that protects your nerves is damaged and this causes a wide range of symptoms and problems with how we move, think and feel. We invite EVERYONE to join HBR & Marci's Stampede on May 7 at 10:00 for the Walk to Wipe MS OUT! Marci Viland is an HBR mom, author, volunteer and community member. Our 3rd- 5th graders have an author coming to visit on March 15th! We are so excited to welcome Rob Harrell, author of Wink and Batpig: When Pigs Fly, among others. Students will get to meet Rob, watch an illustration demonstration and have a book talk about Rob's newest book, Go Pig or Go Home. You can pre-order a book that Rob will personalize for your student and sign. Check your email for details!
