Parents thank you so much for your patience. It appears that "Safe YouTube" was hacked and some of our video links were going to other places. We have removed those links and you can now let your child login to SeeSaw. We appreciate your pateince and we will continue to be responsive to issues as they arrise.
Thank you!

Parents please do not let your students sign on to seesaw for the time being. We are experiencing technical issues and we are working on getting those fixed. We appreciate all your help in making sure students do NOT sign on at this time!

Dear Kindergarten Parents:
Just a friendly reminder that physicals, vaccinations, and eye exams are due by October 15th, 2020 if you have not already submitted them. These are requirements for all kindergarten students. Dental exams will not be due until May 15th, 2021. Please make sure you sign on the parent signature line of the vision and physical forms. Incomplete exams cannot be processed. Physicals also have a parent section with yes/no questions that need to be circled on the top of the second page. If you are unable to get a date prior to the October 15th deadline, you will need to submit a proof of appointment letter from the provider. Please reach out to me if you need assistance or have questions. I hope your child is enjoying school!
Thank you,
Laura Shea BSN, RN, PEL-CSN

Dear Parents,
You are receiving this communication because you have a child enrolled at the elementary school utilizing the full-time remote learning option for this school year. On August 17, 2020, Dr. McGuire sent out a communication providing an overview of the district plans and expectations when students are using video access or video recordings as part of their instructional services. Now that the school year is off and in full swing, I wanted to take a moment and point out a very important part of that communication. I have copied it below:
One critical aspect of that program will be the use of Google Meets video conferencing technology to enable students to see, hear and learn from their classroom teachers while at home. Until full-time in-person student instruction resumes for all of our students, this technology is being used to best approximate the classroom experience for those that are remote. Hinckley-Big Rock CUSD #429 wants families to know and understand that the virtual classroom will be treated to the greatest extent possible the same as the traditional classroom our students are used to being in. We take student privacy and confidentiality matters seriously and expect the same of students and families during this time as well. To that end, please be mindful of the following expectations:
• The Board of Education’s policies and student behavior standards will still apply when a student is receiving instruction by video or other remote means.
• Students are not permitted to download or make copies of recorded lessons.
• During live-streamed classroom instruction, students and/or their families may not make audio or video recordings or take pictures of the screen.
• Persons other than the student should not watch live-streamed classes, unless a parent’s assistance during the lesson is essential due to a student’s special needs.
• Students must completely log out of any live-streamed lesson after the teacher has ended the class.
• Failure to abide by these expectations and other student behavior standards will subject the student to disciplinary measures in the same manner as if the conduct took place at school.
I appreciate your partnership as we navigate these uncharted waters. I’m truly proud of the teamwork and efforts put forth from our remote teachers and remote support teachers. They are dedicated to creating a successful learning opportunity from school and home. If you have any questions, please reach out and I’ll be happy to help in any way.
Respectfully,
Julie Melnyk, Principal

Thank you!

Office Hour Changes!
The HBRES will be closed from 11:30-12:00 everyday for lunch. This is to ensure our office staff is able to take their lunch break. If you have any questions regarding this change please contact our office.
Thank you!

The 1st week of the 2020-21 school year at HBRES is in the books! What an amazing week!! The students did an awesome job!! They filled this principal’s bucket and kept me smiling all week. 😊 Parents, I want to say a big THANK YOU for your support and partnership. It was evident to me that you have all talked with your children and have explained the importance of working the safety plan and wearing their mask so that we can be together in school. I truly appreciate all your assistance!!! ~Mrs. Melnyk #Proud2bARoyal

Welcome Back! We are so super excited to welcome our students! It really is a good day to be a Royal!

This video demonstrates start of the day (8:15 a.m. & 12:15 p.m.) drop off procedures for students who are being driven by families in cars. Please watch carefully so that you know how to have your student ready for school healthy and safe. We will do our best to get everyone in to school as quickly and as safely as possible. For the end of session pick up (11:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.), all cars will go to Circle Drive. Please be patient with us as none of this (or you!) have done this- we’re all learning together. We’ve got this! See you tomorrow!https://drive.google.com/file/d/1j4EzBcstGoiGmB3c9AptE4hiurZAvSY6/view?usp=sharing

Check out the ABCs of an HBRES Student in 2020! This will give you a clear picture of everything you need to know to start our year off! We look forward to seeing all of our students tomorrow! #HBRStrong #WeareHBR
