Royal Remote Learning Public Hearing

According to Section 10‐20.56 of the School Code [105 ILCS 5/10‐20.56], school districts may, by adopted resolution, utilize
“e‐learning" days in lieu of emergency days. We have named our "e-learning" "Royal Remote Learning". The number of Royal Remote Learning days may not exceed the number of emergency days in the approved school calendar. Our plan is to utilize up to 2 (two) Royal Remote Learning days. We will not use the 2 Royal Remote Learning Days back to back. The district’s e‐learning program must be verified by the regional office of education for the school district prior implementation. Before adoption, the school board must hold a public hearing for initial proposal.

The Hinckley-Big Rock CUSD #429 Board of Education will have a public hearing on Wednesday, November 20th, at 6:15 in the Hinckley-Big Rock High School library. We welcome your public comment in one of four possible ways:

  • You can publicly share your comments at the public hearing;
  • You can share your public comment in writing and bring in a copy of the public comment to the district office (700 E Lincoln Highway, Hinckley, IL 60520);
  • You can mail the public comment to the district office (700 E Lincoln Highway, Hinckley, IL 60520); or
  • You can email your public comments to mslosar@hbr429.org.
